We extend the validity of Dain’s angular-momentum inequality to maximal, asymptotically flat, initial data sets on a simply connected manifold with several asymptotically flat ends which are invariant under a U(1) action and which admit a twist potential.

Mass and angular-momentum inequalities for axi-symmetric initial data sets I. Positivity of mass
We extend the validity of Brill’s axisymmetric positive energy theorem to all asymptotically flat initial data sets with positive scalar curvature on simply connected manifolds.
متن کاملangular-momentum, and charge inequalities for axisymmetric initial data
We present the key elements of the proof of an upper bound for angular-momentum and charge in terms of the mass for electro-vacuum asymptotically flat axisymmetric initial data sets with simply connected orbit space.
متن کاملProof of the angular momentum-mass inequality for axisymmetric black holes
We prove that extreme Kerr initial data set is a unique absolute minimum of the total mass in a (physically relevant) class of vacuum, maximal, asymptotically flat, axisymmetric data for Einstein equations with fixed angular momentum. These data represent nonstationary, axially symmetric, black holes. As a consequence, we obtain that any data in this class satisfy the inequality √ J ≤ m, where ...
متن کاملThe Energy Release–stellar Angular Momentum Independence in Rotating Compact Stars Undergoing First-order Phase Transitions
We present the general relativistic calculation of the energy release associated with a first order phase transition (PT) at the center of a rotating neutron star (NS). The energy release, Erel, is equal to the difference in mass-energies between the initial (normal) phase configuration and the final configuration containing a superdense matter core, assuming constant total baryon number and th...
متن کاملExistence of black holes due to concentration of angular momentum
We present a general sufficient condition for the formation of black holes due to concentration of angular momentum. This is expressed in the form of a universal inequality, relating the size and angular momentum of bodies, and is proven in the context of axisymmetric initial data sets for the Einstein equations which satisfy an appropriate energy condition. A brief comparison is also made with...
